is a 16th century Inn and combines traditional pub qualities with modern guest accommodation in the hamlet of Girtford, Sandy on the Old London Road. Managers, Dave and Leanne Tremain have really given the old place a new lease of life, and many first-time visitors have already become regulars. Some come to enjoy a glass or two of real ale in the old-world bars, where open fires keep things cosy in the cooler months, others to sample the excellent snacks and meals served in the bars or non-smoking dining rooms. Food is available every session except Sunday evening, and booking is recommended, particularly on Thursday, Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. Some come to enjoy all the above and to relax with a short break or weekend in the motel-style accommodation to the rear of the pub. The four self-contained chalets for 2, all have en suite facilities, TV, hot drinks tray and a small fridge. For more information on accomodation please click here.
